I can’t say enough good things about our private all-day game fishing trip with Funthaisea that we’d booked for 3 guests in April 2023!  Communications with Capt. Sergei were timely answered with concise, useful information.  Add-on roundtrip transportation from Patong Beach hotel to Chalong was reasonably priced and on time as scheduled, with a personable driver who even arrived early.

The trip couldn’t have gone more smoothly.  After steaming out from Chalong Pier, although it was slow at first during the initial trolling, the crew put us on some fish in the late morning.  Once we ran into a couple schools of tuna, then it was nonstop action for nearly a couple hours.  Lunch was prepared onboard and included both cooked tuna that we’d just caught as well as fresh tuna sashimi.  While the crew was cooking up lunch, we had opportunity to swim and snorkel.  By end of day, as we steamed back to Chalong Pier, our catch added up to a whopping 30 tuna, not bad for 3 guys on their first private fishing trip in Phuket!

Our ride back to Patong Beach was on time, and our driver was already waiting for us as we deboarded at the pier.  We all had a wonderful time and will be booking Funthaisea again for our Phuket trip next year.  Thank you, Capt. Sergei, for such a wonderful time!

My wife and I charted this boat for a full day (8 hour) private charter and everything was exactly as expected. Sergei was in constant communication with me leading up to the trip date, he arranged transportation from my hotel to the marina and back (which was cheaper than my local rate). Upon arrival at the Marina, Sergei quickly found me and my wife and he has us on the boat in minutes. Once we got on the boat, we were immediately underway. Now Sergei was not with us on the boat- but his crew of 3 were and they were great.
As soon as we left the harbor we started trolling for tuna and ended up catching 2 tuna. Spent the rest of the morning trolling for tuna, then stopped for snorkeling and lunch at a secluded cove. The lunch spot was incredible! The crew even prepared some of our tuna as sashimi and it was to die for.
Then when we said we were ready, we began fishing again, this time we rigged up for sail fish and proceeded to work trolling zig zags on our way back.
Unfortunately we only caught the two tuna, but still An amazing trip and would do again in a heart beat.

Plenty of fishing, a great lunch, great crew, a great time.

For those who don’t know how to fish, don’t worry, you can be as hands on- or as hands off as you want. The crew does most of the work unless you choose to get in there and do it.

We were a little skeptical at first because our deck hand was a around 45 minutes late, but he was extremely apologetic and made up for it with a trip exceeding our expectations and we stayed out the full 8 hours. After catching some black tuna, a rainbow and a couple rock fish he made us an amazing lunch and cooked up the fish we caught and sliced up some fresh sashimi. They took us to a great snorkeling spot as well. We wish we did this private tour twice instead of the huge group snorkeling trip we tried. Would definitely book again!

Despite catching only a handful of small reef fish while bottom fishing, our group all had an amazing time with the crew.
We trolled around for a few hours to no success, and one of the deckhands mentioned that nobody in the area had been catching fish in the last few days, but that last week they were catching up to 30 in a day. I could say that I wish they had mentioned this when we booked, but at the end of the day that’s just the way fishing goes sometimes, you never can truly predict it.
What we lacked in impressive fish, the crew made up for with incredible snorkeling spots. Crystal clear water and amazingly diverse sea life, it was honestly perfect for my first time snorkeling.
Captain Sergei’s flexibility was much appreciated when our group of 5 inflated to 9 the night before the trip.
The snacks, drinks, and lunch provided were also incredible! A range of soft drink, coffee, tea and water were provided, as well as a delicious fruit basket and home-cooked lunch! So yummy!

All in all, we had a great time aboard the Guzel and I could not recommend this charter more!

Was a good day, great crew who were helpful and upbeat, didn’t get the fish we wanted but that’s how it goes, caught enough for lunch so can’t complain at all
