Red snapper season is booking quick

Looks like we are going to have another awesome red snapper season in the Destin area. The season is from the 2 week of June the the end of July. Season time frame is subject to changes by the state of Florida. Bookings are going quickly. Definitely don't wait too long to book before all of the dates are gone. February, one of the best months for act

February tends to be considered our slow month. Many species are out of season, weather can be hit and miss, and taking alot of meat home is tough. But the action is incredible. The lack of fishing pressure has bigger fish ready to give you a great battle. If you are looking for great action, tons of awesome pictures, and cooler weather, this is the time of year for you.

Cobia fishing ready to explode.

The gulf currents are warming up. The Cobia fishing is starting to be very productive. Artificial eels, certain skirted jigs, and different lives baits work well. Sight fishing is the best technique, troll near shore in 2 to 10 ft clear water and cast infont of the cobia and prepare for a very strong fighting fish.

9 Hour Trip – Going Big

Well, the old term of “that’s why they call it fishing and not catching” held true today. We went out for the 9 hour trip and had an extremely slow bite. Some fish were landed but the action was few and far between. HOWEVER, Captain was absolutely fantastic and gave 110% effort. He took us to multiple spots, caught lots of bait, remained calm and patient, and tried every trick in the book to get us on biting fish. I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone.

Thanks for a great review. We definitely had to earn every fish. Very slow bite the first half of the day with the bite a little better towards the end. You guys were patient and did not mind hitting alot of different spots looking for that better bite. I give you alot of credit. Hopefully we can rebook in the future with cleaner water and a better bite. Captain James

This was our (father and two boys, 17 and 19) first experience with an ocean charter fishing trip and Captain James did not disappoint! We are land locked trout fisherman from Colorado therefore had no idea what to expect. There’s no such thing as a bad day of fishing…that said, some bigger fish would have been mo’ fun. Nonetheless, we got onto a bunch of red snapper very quickly (couldn’t keep - not in season). Thanks for a great review. Longer trips really do help be able to hit more spots looking for good size of fish and more eaters. Wave action did not help much and pushed us towards calmer bay water. We took what mother nature allowed for and were able to grab some decent meat for your journey. Hopefully next trip will be a little calmer and a little warmer water were the mahi will be in the area. You both were great.. Captain James Scott

We had such a great time out on the water with Apex Charters and Captain James Scott.
