Excellent trip! Captain Hunter and mate Haylee (hope I spelled it correctly) were amazing! Clean boat, well equipped with good tackle. They put us right on the fish, lines stayed tight nearly the whole trip. If the bite slowed down he quickly went to work to get us on the next hot spot. Very knowledgeable crew, attentive and very relaxed. These guys not only put you on the fish but also let you fish, unlike some boats I’ve been on before they’re not pushy and very helpful! While it was a very clam day for us offshore, the seakeeper on this boat made it even better. Great fishing aside, the crew was great just in casual conversation, tons of laughs and stories to tell for years to come. We will definitely be booking with Captain Bobby and Lonestar Charters again! No need to find another boat, Lonestar is your answer for Destin fishing charters! Thanks again for a great afternoon.

We went on a 6 hour trip with Captain Hunter and 1st mate Molly on 6/18/2023. Let me just say, we have been on many charters, and this charter was by far the best one we have been on! The crew interacted with us, played good music, kept us on fish and kept bait on our hooks. Hunter was always working to change up the bait or change locations to keep us on fish. On the way back in to the Harbor, we got caught in a bad thunderstorm.  This crew stayed calm and did their best to get us back to the dock safely. We had a great time and will continue to book with Bobby and his crew every year!

We booked a 5-hr afternoon trip over spring break. Chose catch & release over keepers. We headed out on time & spent a few mins catching live bait. Caught 4-5 nice red snapper at our first stop. Moved a couple times & caught more red snapper & a trigger fish.

Daughter was wanting to catch a shark, so the Capt & First Mate put a larger Grunt on the line. We immediately hooked up with a Bull Shark (6’ 180 lbs estimated). We took turns fighting him for 30 mins trying to get some good photos, but finally decided to cut the line. Capt Joseph moved the boat over 700’ to keep us on top of the shark.

We dropped a few more baits & I hooked an 18lb Red Snapper. Great fight!

Would definitely recommend & will return next time we are in State.

We had the best day!  Captain Bobby was as nice as could be.  He is passionate and knowledgeable about fishing and the waters around the area.  He is also passionate about making sure the guests on his boat have a good time.  He asked us if we would want to stay closer and catch fish that we could bring back, cook up, and eat- or go further out to catch bigger fish.  We chose the bigger fish option.  (we were leaving the next day- and wouldn’t have benefitted from taking them with us.)  We caught fish after fish.  We saw dolphins!  We also saw a shark, and captain Bobby thought it might be fun for my 16 year old to catch the shark.  My son spent almost an hour ‘fighting’ that shark, and. reeling it in- it was so exciting.  We were lucky with great weather too.  We have already booked both of Bobby’s fishing boats for the next time we are in the area.  SO FUN!

My kids had no idea on what they were looking for other than a nice fishing trip for me for but will say it was an amazing stroke of luck they picked Lonestar and Capt Bobby. Went out on 5 hour trip when weather was cold (40s and 50s) and little wind and chop on the water but Capt Bobby was fantastic and kept us busy reeling in fish all day…even pulling them up at the same time with my son-in-law.  I’ve done several charters through the years from the Great Lakes to the Gulf and I will say I generally don’t write a review but this experience was exceptional from the Capt to the boat…watching the dolphins on the way out and the phenomenal job getting us to the fish and keeping us on them even when almost to late in the season and not the best weather.  Definitely not only would I recommend Capt Bobby and Lonestar but I will definitely return not just with other family members but I’ll be back to bring my grandkids to enjoy a day on the water catching fish.
